The Student Voice at Holgate Academy supported Emmanuel House’s “Bringing the Harvest Home” campaign, with staff and students donating tins and packets of food.

Emmanuel House is a Nottingham-based charity which provides support for the homeless and vulnerable, and currently serves 60-100 hot meals a day.

There was a prize for the tutor groups that collected the most items, which was jointly won by Miss Chapman’s and Miss Davison’s forms.

In other food-related news, Year 11 Food Technology students demonstrated their technical skills this week for their final assessment which counts towards their GCSE grade.

Grace and Milly demonstrated professional piping skills in the production of their profiteroles and macaroons, produced to such a high standard they could be sold in shops.

The students invited members of staff including Mr Holmes (Principal) to taste their products to give them feedback.
