Travellers to and from Nottingham will face delays as a main road will be closed as final improvements to one of Nottingham’s busiest roundabouts are completed.
Preparatory work at the Hucknall Road/Valley Road roundabout started this Monday and will take place on weekdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Lane restrictions have been put in place.
From 7pm until 11pm, Hucknall Road will be closed at its junction with Valley Road. From 7pm on August 21, to 6am on August 24, the roundabout will be closed to all traffic to allow the final surfacing works to take place.
The works are part of a £16.2 million ring road project to reduce congestion and delays and improve journey time reliability.
Councillor Nick McDonald, portfolio holder for jobs, growth and transport at Nottingham City Council, said: “The ring road works are essential for the city. We have timed them to take place now because we know there is less traffic during the summer months.”
