Fire crews tackle acid spill at Sutton warehouse

Firefighters were called to deal with an acid spill at a warehouse in Sutton last night.

Crews from Ashfield and Stockwith were called to deal with a spillage of 25 litres of sulphuric acid at the premises of Kuehne and Nagel on Orchard Way at 10.24pm.

Firefighters wore chemical protection suits and breathing apparatus to tackle the spillage.

Absorbent granules and matts were used to contain the chemicals.

There were no reported injuries caused by the incident.
