Firefighters avert explosion by tackling fire involving gas cylinders
Firefighters averted an explosion after they tackled a fire in Kirkby involving gas cylinders.
Crews from Ashfield, Mansfield and Blidworth were called to a rubbish fire which had spread to buildings on Sidings Road.
It soon became apparent there were three gas cylinders which had to be isolated and cooled down as a matter of public safety.
The blaze, which was reported at 1.20pm was eventually declare safe at 3.50pm.
