Firewalk will raise money for bonfire

Fundraisers for Cuckney Community Bonfire Group will are really putting themselves out by undertaking a firewalk to raise cash for the much-loved event.

A group of 12 from businesses across the Welbeck Estate will be walking barefoot across a 20-foot bed of coals on 22nd August at Lady Margaret Hall, Welbeck.

The fearless firewalkers are appealing to businesses and individuals to sponsor them and help keep the 25 year-old bonfire night on the calender.

Rebecca Wombell, marketing manager at Welbeck’s Harley Gallery, said: “It is a really lovely event which brings everybody together from the local villages and is very dear to everyone who attends.

“We have quite an impressive fireworks display, with a great turnout and a brilliant atmosphere.”

The firewalk event runs from 8-10pm and there will be barbecue and bar, with all proceeds going to the Cuckney Community Bonfire Group.

A spokesman for Blaze Fire walking Experts said: “Firewalking is genuinely thrilling. Everybody finds their first firewalk not only great fun but thoroughly exhilarating too.

“What is more, it could easily be the most memorable, enjoyable and fun event you have ever, or will ever, organise.”
