Food recall over allergy fears

A batch of snacks is being recalled by the makers over fears for the safety of people with allergies.

Cofresh is recalling a batch of its Eat Real Lentil Chips Creamy Dill Flavour because the presence of wheat (gluten) is not mentioned on the label.

This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The recalled batch is for 40g packs with batch code: L6188 and ‘Best before’ end: July 2015

Watchdog the Food Standards Agency said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where you bought it for a full refund.

“The company has issued a product recall from its customers and point-of-sale notices are displayed in stores where the affected product was sold.”
