Funding pointers offered to community groups at Arrow event

Representatives of community groups are being invited to a special event where they can find out about funding available for their projects.

Focus on Funding is running the free gathering at The Arrow Centre, Hucknall, on 22nd January.

Staff from funding organisations will be there to talk about eligibility, whether a project is at the ideas stage or an application has already been drafted.

Funders include WREN, Comic Relief, Nottinghamshire County Council, Heritage Lottery Fund and The Big Lottery.

There will also be a chance to talk to organisations that provide information and advice about topics including finance and volunteering.

County councillor Alice Grice, who is supporting the event, said: ““We want to support Hucknall’s community and voluntary sector in any way we can. If our local groups can draw in funding from outside sources, it is not only a boost to those groups but can also boost our local economy.

“If we get enough interest, we will put on a series of workshops to support our local groups in submitting bids and any other help they need to become self-sustaining.”

For more information, or to register for the event from 2pm to 6pm, email [email protected] or call Susan on 01636 705447.
