Friends of Sarah Redfern say they have been touched and moved by the generosity of local businesses who have donated valuable prizes for the fun day at the Pop Inn Mansfield on Saturday August 29.

Sarah died last August after she was hit by a car as she walked home from a night out.

Her pals and family are planning a memorial to her at the Pop Inn at Mansfield which was Sarah’s favourite pub.

Organiser Megan Blair said: Sarah was a beautiful person inside and out with a loving family, many friends and a son who she was devoted to,

“We wanted to create something to give her the memorial she deserves. It could be a plaque, a bench or even a water feature if we raise enough money.”

“We have been amazed by how much people have given us for prizes in raffles competitions and auctions on the day.”

Prizes confirmed so far include three cut and blow dries at local hairdressers, a meal for two at a restaurant, a ‘Super Car day’ in Nottingham, free MOT tests, a one night stay in a Matlock hotel, Laser Quest tickets, comedy club tickets and several food hampers.

Anyone wanting to sponsor the memorial can get more information and tributes to Sarah at Sarah’s story, a Facebook page in her memory.
