Fundraising Royal British Legion engage with community

A WEEK of roadshows has given the residents of Bulwell an insight into the work of its fledgling branch of the Royal British Legion.

The group was only re-formed a little more than 12 months ago after a gap of several years without a branch in the town.

But it has already raised more than £30,000 to support current and former servicemen and women and their families.

Most of the cash came from last November’s Poppy Appeal.

Now the branch has taken to the shop floor with the roadshows at Bulwell’s Tesco store on Jennison Street to explain what the Legion does and to call for support.
