Gedling Borough Council purchases new ranger for flood and ice danger

Gedling Borough Council has bought a new emergency response vehicle to spread grit during snowy weather, tow vehicles and supply sandbags in flood-hit areas. The four-wheel drive Ford Ranger van can drive over flooded areas and tow a self-deploying gritting box. It will be managed by the council’s parks and street care team which supports the emergency response provided by Nottinghamshire County Council. The purchase coincides with the setup of a local flood forum to help support local businesses and the council’s push for a £30,000 investment into flood risks by the Environment Agency and Nottingham City Council.
