Queen Elizabeth’s Academy on Chesterfield Road South was inspected by the body in November and the inspectors’ report was published last week.

The report states that the quality of teaching is inconsistent and the achievement of pupils is inadequate, especially in English and maths.

It goes on to say senior leaders have been too slow in bringing about changes that would improve the quality of teaching and too few pupils make the progress they should during their time at the school.

More on this story will follow in this week’s Chad.
