Hucknall’s Half Moon pub will reopen its doors on Friday after a total refurbishment and under new ownership.
Neil Cunningham, with parents Leo and Veronica who hail from Northern Ireland, and manager Mark Hodgson will be running the town centre pub which has suffered a chequered past in recent years.
But the team say they will not tolerate the same problems.
“We understand there has been a bad history associated with the pub but this won’t be repeated as we are hoping to draw different people in,” said Neil who will be the chef providing firm family favourites.
“We have invested a lot of money in renovating the property giving it a modern yet traditional feel and families will be very welcome until 9pm.
“There will be live DJs on Friday and Saturday nights and in the future we hope to introduce live music on Sunday afternoons,” added Neil who has been managing pubs for the past eight years following in his parents’ footsteps who have 26 years of publican experience under their belts.
The Half Moon is one of Hucknall’s most historic pubs dating back to 1832.
“We are looking forward to serving the Hucknall community and want to thank everyone for all their hard work in getting the pub ready.”
for our grand opening.”“
