The event attracts hundreds of visitors over the three days but for the first time, organisers at the John Godber Centre have joined forces with local brewery, Lincoln Green, to give fans a chance to create a new beer.

The beer festival committee will be running a competition for one person to help create and brew a special beer for the 2014 festival at the Lincoln Green brewery based at Wigwam Lane.

“We’re really pleased to once again be working with members of Nottingham CAMRA and the Lincoln Green Brewery team to bring the Hucknall Beer Festival back for a fourth year,” said manager of the John Godber Centre, Kim Pears.

“And I’m looking forward to trying the specially created beer.

“The festival is tinged with a little sadness this year as Anthea Roberts, one of the festival’s founding committee members, passed away in November.

“Without Anthea’s determination and hard work the resurrection of the Hucknall Beer Festival in 2011 would not have been possible,” added Kim. “Anthea is missed dearly every day and this year’s festival is more poignant to us. We will do her proud and are aiming to make this festival the best we’ve done in her memory.”
