AN HISTORIC Annesley church is set to be re-opened to the public following months of careful restoration work.
The once ruined Annesley Old Church has been renovated as part of a joint project involving Ashfield District Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and the Friends of Annesley Old Church group.
Now members of the public are being invited to see the church at an open day on Saturday September 8, which starts at 10 am and finishes at 7 pm.
During the day there will be guided tours, DVD screenings, live folk and skiffle music and a ghostly tales walk.
The Annesley All Saints Church will also be opening its doors for part of the day and visitors will be able to see many of the ancient monuments, plaques and effigies that were once located in the old church.
There are also activities taking place at the Acacia Centre on Acacia Avenue, for example, the screening and exhibitions.
People can park at the Acacia Centre and a shuttle bus will take them to the church.
