Kyle Wilde, 23, of no fixed abode, admitted handling stolen goods and commiting fraud when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The court heard he gained £48 of goods from the garage on Rosemary Street on March 17.

David Miles, prosecuting, said: “Overnight on March 16 a vehicle parked on Woodborough Road, in Mansfield, was broken into and a bank card was taken.

“The defendant said a friend gave him the card but accepts that he knew it wasn’t his card to use.”

He said Wilde had previous convictions for possession of cannabis and burglary in April and May 2015.

Yvonne Wragg, mitigating, said: “There has been no further offending since March.

“He tells me that he has been homeless for two and a half years.

“Prior to that he had his own flat and everything was OK.

“But then he started dabbling with drugs and started to take heroin.

“Unfortunately, he is still in the same position today.”

She said he was taking the heroin substitute subutex.

Magistrates sentenced him to 28 days for each offence, suspended for 12 months.
He was ordered to pay £48 compensation and costs of £42.50.
