A HUCKNALL woman is trying to find out who owns a dog that attacked and injured her two horses while out on a walk.
Lynne Collins, of Shortwood Avenue, said the black Staffordshire bull terrier ran up to the horses while they were in a field, snapped at them and bit both of them.
One of the horses, four year-old Dally, ended up with a two-inch circle of skin missing from the side of its belly and the other, Minx (aged three), suffered a deep gouge injury at the end of its nose.
The attacks happened at lunchtime on Thursday November 25 on a field next to the JTF discount warehouse on Daniels Way, off Watnall Road, Hucknall.
Lynne (39), who breeds horses, said: “A JTF customer saw what happened and told the receptionist, who shouted to the owner of the dog to take control of it. The man then wandered off with the dog.
“I don’t think it’s an official path where he was walking and he should certainly not have let the dog loose in the field.
“My horses were treated with antibiotics and I have had to pay a £150 vet’s bill.
“The dog owner needs to be traced in case something like this happens again — and it could be a child who is attacked next time.”
