Hucknall car vandal faces hefty court bill


A Calverton man was landed with a £1,496 bill in court after he pleaded guilty to damaging two cars in Hucknall.

Mark Richardson, 45, of Labray Road, Calverton, admitted damaging a Peugeot 207 belonging to Michelle Handley on September 1, and a Vauxhall Astra belonging to John Moulton, on September 13.

Three other charges of criminal damage were dropped as no evidence was offered.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £145 for the first car and £1201 for the second.

Nottingham magistrates also ordered him to carry out out unpaid work for 40 hours within the next 12 months and pay a criminal courts charge of £150.
