Hucknall’s gold medallist Andy Turner pleas for precious memories of his mum to be returned

Olympic hurdler Andy Turner has made a heartfelt plea to burglars who stole precious photos of his mum.

The Hucknall Olympian said some of the most important and recent memories he had of his mum, who died suddenly on 29th October, are now in the hands of heartless criminals.

While attending mum Yvonne’s funeral yesterday (7th October), the 33-year-old’s family home in Hucknall was burgled.

“I am absolutely gutted about everything,” He said.

“It couldn’t be worse to be honest, they don’t have a conscience to do something like this.

“I would say to them how would they feel if it was their mum that had just died and all those memories were suddenly taken away?

“All those precious memories and photos I have of her are in their hands, I ask that they hand them back or hand them in to police. They don’t have a conscience.”

Andy, who lives in Surrey, has competed in two Olympics and won gold medals at both the Commonwealth Games and European Athletics Championships in 2010.

He continued: “They took my laptop, phone, my car plus lots of other things. We now need to get the locks changed but until we can we are going to be on guard all night.

The car, a white Range Rover Sport, was found in Bilborough earlier this morning but the rest of his things are yet to be found.

It is believed the burglary took place between 2.30pm and 8.30pm yesterday.
