Human bone - month wait for more details

Nottinghamshire Police say they expect it to be a month before they have more information, following the discovery of what is believed to be a human bone in woodland near Papplewick last weekend.

The discovery was made by a member of the public on Saturday 25th January.

Officers conducted a search of the area, near the Burnt Stump, following the discovery.

Members of the public walking nearby reported seeing a lot of police activity, with police vehicles, police dogs and scenes of crime officers all spotted.

The bone is believed to be human but has been sent for forensics testing.

Further investigations are ongoing and anyone with any information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
