ICGMOOH: Rebecca Adlington breaks down in tears over remarks made about her looks on social media

After Mansfield’s Rebecca Adlington broke down in tears about her looks on last night’s I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, the public has rallied behind her.

Two times gold Olympic medal winning Adlington admitted to receiving torrents of abuse about her looks on social networking sites on a daily basis.

On Thursday night’s show, Rebecca admitted that Miss Universe model, Amy Willerton, made her feel insecure about her body.

But Amy (21) defended her looks saying she knows how it feels to be insecure after suffering from acne as a 15-year-old.

She said about the comments made on Becky’s appearance: “That is human nature, people always say nasty things.”

It was a tough admission for Becky to make after seeing the super model clad out in her bikini and getting close with Joey Essex.

She said: “She doesn’t know what it’s like on a day to day basis, she’s absolutely beautiful.

“We’re made to think that being a size 12 or 14 isn’t attractive and it makes you feel so crap about yourself,”

Since the retired swimmer revealed her true feelings, the public has rallied behind her on Twitter.

Lisa Harris from Nottingham was among hundreds of others to Tweet messages of support for Becky. She tweeted ‘@BeckAdlington An inspiration to young women everywhere; a hero of our lifetime & a truly beautiful woman. Your country is so proud of you!!!’

What is your reaction to Becky’s admission? Do you have a message of support for her?
