Identify creepy crawlies at Brierley

Residents can get up close to creepy crawlies at a free wildlife event organised by RSPB Ashplorers and the Friends of Brierley Forest Park.

Taking place on Saturday at Brierley Forest Park in Huthwaite, there will be a bug hunt in the afternoon between 3pm and 6pm.

This will be followed by a moth trapping session at night with the traps being switched on at about 9pm.

The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Entomological Society (DaNES) will be running the event.

Their experts will be on hand to help identify everything that is captured.

The visitor centre will be open until 9pm for light refreshments and toilet facilities.

The event is aimed at people of all ages and is suitable for families to take part in.
