THE DREAM held by a pretty Hucknall teenager of making it to the final of the prestigious Miss England beauty contest bit the dust last weekend.

IMOGEN SPRAY (19), pictured, made it through to the showpiece finale of the Miss Every Model 2011 competition in Leicester.

And had she won, she would have gone on to the Miss England stage with the ultimate prize being a slot in the renowned Miss World contest, which carries a top prize of 100,000 dollars.

But sadly, Imogen, of Charles Street, couldn’t make the top three in Leicester after taking part in a catwalk show, modelling swimwear, sportswear and evening dress.

Despite her disappointment, she labelled the competition “a brilliant experience”.

She added: “It was great fun, and I met a lot of really nice people.”

Imogen entered the Every Model contest after being approached by a scout during the Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s NEC.

As part of her bid, she organised a fundraising fun day at the Empire social club and pub on Beardall Street in aid of the Helping Orphaned Poor and Exploited (HOPE), which works with disadvantaged youngsters around the world.

Imogen also thanked her dad, Craig Spray, who owns Robert Spray Insurance on Watnall Road, Hucknall and provided her with sponsorship.
