Inner Wheel festive charity work

The Inner Wheel ladies of Hucknall have had a busy month and know just how Santa feels now.

Shoes boxes containing small gifts were filled and wrapped and sent overseas to bring joy to the less fortunate on Christmas Day.

Baby bundles were made up with a blanket, sheets, clothes, nappies and pins and toys and sent overseas for new mums who have very little for their babies. Carnival day saw us in St Mary’s Church decorating a tree for the festival and in the evening we were raising funds with our Pick-a-Petal tombola stall. When Santa came to town he was glad of our help recently on the Rotary Sleigh and we thank everyone for their donations which enables us to carry on supporting both local and overseas charities.

We did find time in the month to enjoy a festive meal at the Horse and Groom with games and carols.
