Jade Riley-Ward killer given life with minimum 20 year sentence

The killer of Jade Riley-Ward has been sentenced to life in prison for a frenzied attack, described by a judge as ‘torture’.

Cornelius Brown (23), stabbed Ms Riley Ward over 80 times in the attack in Somercotes, on 22nd September, last year.

He will serve a minimum of 20 years before he is eligible for parole.

Judge Jonathan Teare told Nottingham Crown Court this morning, that the attack on Jade had been “deliberate, vicious and prolonged” and “it would not be wrong to describe it as torture.”
