Jealous Mansfield Woodhouse man assaulted former girfriend after party

A Mansfield Woodhouse man pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend and damaging her mobile phone in a jealous rage.

On Wednesday Mansfield Magistrates’ Court was told Mark Bramwell of Radbourne Street had drunk whisky and taken cocaine when he accused his former partner of ignoring him at a party with friends at her home on September 27. After, Bramwell, 30 then threw a chair and swiped glasses to the floor causing her to cut her foot.

When she tried to call the police, he grabbed her arm and her mobile phone fell to the floor and smashed.

The care worker was given a 12 month community order with 60 hours unpaid work, ordered to pay compensation of £150, £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge.
