Keogh update at King’s Mill

A public meeting on the progress the trust that runs King’s Mill Hospital has made against the recommendations of the Keogh report is being held on Monday.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of 11 hospital trusts across England that has been placed in special measures by Sir Bruce Keogh and given an action plan to improve.

Trust chief executive Paul O’Connor will provide an update on its progress at the meeting, which is at 9.30am until 10.30am in Lecture Theatre 1 at King’s Mill.

Improvements that will be commented on include the clearing of the complaints backlog and the consultation on the redesign of the complaints process.

‘Care and comfort rounds’ are also being implemented to ensure regular patient checks at planned times and the trust is now actively recruiting nursing and medical staff.

Mr O’Connor said he is ‘confident’ the trust is making the required progress and will continue to do so.
