KIRKBY: Students given top tips from SME banker

Kirkby College students have been given an insight into how to do good business from a top banker.

GCSE business students were given top tips for their final piece of course work from Stephen Denham, business development manager, Midlands and the north region for SME Banking.

Mr Denham visited students on 17th October to share his business finance experience and extensive knowledge with students which will help them to formulate a business plan as preparation for starting a new business.

The session will help year 11 students achieve their level 2 OCR Cambridge Nationals in business studies.

All students will work together to plan and implement activities to run their own business.

Students will apply for funding from the school using a business plan which will then be used to implement their business idea. Any profit made will then be donated to a charity of the students’ choice.
