A man has admitted assaulting two police officers in Bulwell and carrying a kitchen knife.

Gary McGovern (42) pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday to two counts of common assault and having an article with a blade.

The offences happened on 2nd January in Hemlock Gardens where he lived.

His barrister Adrian Reynolds said a medical report would be needed.

His client had been subject to a community treatment order under the mental health act and had not been taking his medication.

Judge Michael Stokes, the Recorder of Nottingham, bailed McGovern until sentencing on 4th December.
