Lads do Full Monty for Joint Forces Alliance

A charity night is being held at Boothy’s Club, Mansfield, in aid of ex-servicemen’s support organisation the Joint Forces Alliance (JFA) on 3rd October.

The night will be comprised of a disco, a live performance from singer Wes Dolan, a raffle and a Full Monty-style trip performance especially for the ladies.

JFA is a charity which supports ex-military personnel in Mansfield and Ashfield who face issues with post-traumatic stress disorder, homelessness, drug and alcohol issues and resettlement.

Headed up by Gulf War veteran Jason Rathbone, the JFA works to help ex-servicemen re-acclimatise to civilian life by helping with housing, food and mental health issue.

The organisation provides a one-stop shop for health, housing and welfare needs and it now has an established foodbank and furniture project at its Mansfield Woodhouse headquarters.

Said Jason: “People walk into the furniture project and foodbank self-referring and at that point we ask if everything is Ok and signpost them to other agencies if necessary.”

But the JFA Furniture Project also provides all the essentials for setting up a new home.

Jason added: “We are in the business of giving people a home and a chance and there is an absolute necessity in keeping this going.”
