Leisure centre makes a splash with top marks

Everyone Active – which operates Edgewood Leisure Centre in partnership with Ashfield District Council - has become the first national facility operator to gain the ASA quality mark for its swimming lesson programme.

The nationally recognised accreditation is awarded to swimming providers that have successfully shown they are providing learn to swim programmes that meet ASA and industry-wide standards. Everyone Active was awarded the accreditation following an independent assessment of its Learn to Swim scheme.

Jacqui Tillman, Everyone Active’s group swim manager, commented: “We are delighted to be the first leisure operator to receive the ASA Learn to Swim accreditation. It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to our commitment to helping more children learn to swim and be active. Our scheme has proven hugely successful across all of our 78 aquatic site. We’re proud to say that we deliver lessons to over 100,000 children every week.”

Keith Sutton, head of the ASA’s partnership provider programme, said: “Everyone Active has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to providing good quality learn to swim provision across its sites.”
