THREE-year-old Hucknall girl Lexie Woodfield has not rested on her laurels after becoming a Dispatch Child Of The Year in 2011.

For the youngster, of Versailles Gardens, has now received a trophy for outstanding achievement at the Summers In Time Dance School, based at the John Godber Centre on Ogle Street, Hucknall.

The versatile youngster is equally at home with disco dancing, street dancing, slow rock ‘n’ roll and cheerleading, all of which are taught at the dance school.

Needless to say, her parents, Kayleigh Spencer and Gary Woodfield, are very proud of her and amazed by what she has achieved.

Lexie has been going to Summers In Time, which is run by Catherine Dore, for two years and three months.

“Her mum took her there on the off-chance that she would enjoy it and she has never looked back,” said Lexie’s aunt, Julie Riley.

“Lexie has a wonderful personality and she thoroughly enjoys performing. She has already taken part in a show at Mapperley Plains Social Club in March.”

Lexie was selected as winner of the 25-to-36 months category of our Child Of The Year competition last August.

She follows a family tradition because Gary’s teenage daughter, Lauren Woodfield, was one of the winners of the inaugural Dispatch Baby Of The Year contest 17 years ago.
