In the wake of news that LEO’s funding had ceased and its Enterprise Coaching services would have to be withdrawn, Nottinghamshire County Council has provided some forward funding which will support the continued delivery of LEO’s successful series of Enterprise Clubs and expand them into eight locations across the County.

LEO Enterprise Clubs bring together local people who are considering self-employment or starting a new business, and provide a unique workshop style training and advice service to County residents.

Experienced Enterprise Coaches are present at the clubs to provide valuable one-to-one and group advice and guidance to all those attending.

The Enterprise Coaches will also bring in specialists in a range of related fields, including marketing, sales, finance and tax matters.

“Continuing the LEO Enterprise Clubs has meant a lot to the LEO team,” said John Hudson, LEO Programme Director.

“It gives us the opportunity to keep on providing much needed support to local people who are seeking new ways to make a living, as well as those who have a promising business idea.”

LEO has seen an increase in local people considering self-employment as an alternative source of income following redundancy.

Added Mr Hudson: “Our Enterprise Coaches have found that many clients are making a move towards self-employment due to the current economic climate – and we can only see this trend growing. It’s essential that there is someone out there to provide support and information for these people, ensuring they are fully prepared to make that leap. “Thanks to Nottinghamshire County Council we are now able to do this through the Enterprise Clubs.”
