A 31-YEAR-OLD Bestwood Village man was given two suspended prison sentences — and a restraining order — when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, charged with assaulting two women on the same day.
Jason Wiggington (31), of The Square, was given a 16-week sentence, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to one of the assaults.
He was also ordered to pay £150 compensation to the victim and to carry out 160 hours’ of unpaid work within the next 12 months, as well as being made subject to the restraining order.
For the other assault, which he also admitted, Wiggington was handed an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, which will run concurrently with the first sentence. He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to the victim.
The magistrates were told that both attacks were committed in the Radford area of Nottingham on Sunday May 6.
Wiggington also pleaded guiity to an additional count of causing criminal damage to a microwave and a glass mirror. He was given a two-week concurrent prison term, suspended fror 18 months, and ordered to pay £120 compensation.
No action was taken after Wiggington admitted breaching a 12-month conditional discharge by committing the offences.
