Man fined for public tantrum display

A Sutton man has been fined for damaging a glass panel after being refused service at a town centre pub.

Mansfield magistrates were told how Lee west (27), of Brierley Cottages, kicked an internal door, causing a glass brick to smash, after slamming his fists down on the bar.

Chris Perry, defending, said: “Mr West was detained two weeks ago at work and gave his full cooperation, pleading guilty at the first opportunity.

“This is not part of a current pattern and he has not returned to the pub - he was not drunk at the time.”

A magistrate said West’s behaviour at the Nag’s Head was ‘not acceptable.’

He was given a £200 fine, ordered to pay £100 compensation, a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
