GK Ford Mansfield on Southwell Road West has agreed to provide the vehicles to Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies for its Coast to Coast charity bike ride for the Fountaindale SEN School.

The Ford Tourneo and Ford LWB will be used to transport equipment and team members to the start in Morecambe and from the finish in Bridlington.

Said Hall-Fast director, Rachel Hall: “It really is a nice gesture from GK Ford to provide us with two vehicles for this charity event.

“It is an indication of their community spirit, and I think it is great that Mansfield-based companies are coming together to help a Mansfield based charity.”

The bike ride in April is part of a series of fundraisers Hall-Fast is doing to raise £40,000 in 24 months for the Nottingham Road school, which helps youngsters aged three to 19 with physical and sensory needs, to buy new equipment.

Alison Davies, rental operator at GK Ford, said: “When we heard of Hall-Fast’s latest fundraising challenge and their need for transportation we were keen to help out, it is in aid of a great cause.”

The Anglia Way-based firm, which has so far raised more than £22,600, is hosting a second charity ball at the John Fretwell Centre, Sookholme, on 9th May.
