Mansfield: Firm’s ‘free’ electric car charge offer

Electric car charging stations are being installed free of charge by a Mansfield company.

Electric vehicle and hybrid technology is seen by many as the future of motoring in the search for cleaner and cheaper travel.

Solartex is offering the free installation for most applicants, providing they are a homeowner, private tenant, landlord, estate agent or building contractor and have off-street parking, a driveway or garage.

Installation normally costs between £1,000 and £1,500, but has been made available without cost for a limited time by a government scheme.

Residents who do not currently have an electric car can still apply.

“By having a charging station installed, it will future-proof your home for following generations,” said Solartex’s Ryan Dunn.

“Not only will you be at the forefront of new technology, you will be doing your bit to help your local community in becoming less polluted and more eco friendly.

“It also keeps local tradesmen in work and feeding money back into the local economy.”
