It followed an investigation by specialist officers spanning more than two years which began when an anonymous report was received by Nottinghamshire Police regarding concerns that an address in Mansfield was being used as a brothel.

Officers attended a property in Grove Street in the town and established that it was operating as a brothel. In July 2012 Morgan was arrested there and inside there was a letter addressed to Belton.

Belton had funded the renting and maintenance of the property being used as a brothel while Morgan oversaw the day to day running of it.

They are due to be sentenced on 1st August 2014.

DS Clare Barrett said: “The sexual exploitation of women within these brothels is a crime that so often goes unnoticed and unreported due to its hidden nature and the power and control exercised over the women.

“The effect of these crimes has an irreparable effect of its victims. Belton and Morgan exploited women to line their own pockets.”
