Mansfield scooter pair make 80 mile return journey from Skegness

A Mansfield pair have made the headlines in Skegness after riding to the seaside town.

John and Carol Palmer, of Newgate Lane, have made the 80 mile journey to the coast for local charities, the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance and RNLI.

After departing on 6th September and arriving in Skegness on Saturday, they have had a ride around the coast in the RNLI lifeboat, seen the crew in action after being called out to an upturned dingy and even met an American pilot who treated them to an American style BBQ. Along their journey made almost entirely by mobility scooters they have been put up by strangers who sheltered them from the recently windy weather. The couple will arrive in Mansfield at the end of this week where they will announce how much they have raised.
