MANSFIELD: Tribute to ‘fighter’ Hollie-Marie

A loving Mansfield mum has paid a heartfelt tribute to her daughter who lost her battle for life at just six weeks old.

Nicole Tomlinson, 22, gave birth to Hollie-Marie Anne on 17th December but a series of pre and post-birth complications meant she passed away on 2nd February.

“We were told that Hollie-Marie only had two hours to live so it shows how much of a little fighter she was that she lived so long,” she said.

“You could see she had a very determined character and she wasn’t afraid to let the nurses know what she wanted in the time she had.

“We were able to spend lots of time with her despite the treatment she was receiving. That time was very precious to us and we’re very thankful for it.”

Hollie-Marie was cared for on ward B26 and the neo-natal unit at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Miss Tomlinson added: “They were very good to us, amazing, in fact.

“I’ve had some fantastic support in what has been a difficult time from my mum, Tracey, who has been an absolute rock.

“I’m also very thankful to my 22-month-old boy Benjamin Christopher, who has also helped me through.”

A funeral will take pace at St John’s with St Mary’s Church, Mansfield on Monday 24th February before burial at Mansfield Cemetery.
