Meden Vale luncheon club has Christmas dinner delivered

A Meden Vale luncheon club will be having a Christmas get together with a festive meal provided by Nottinghamshire County Council’s Meals at Home Service this Friday.

The fortnightly Meden Vale Methodist Church Luncheon Club has around 12 members who will be delivered a Christmas turkey dinner with all the trimmings to be followed by a Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.

The Meals at Home service will be distributing Christmas meals to luncheon clubs across the county this week (commencing Monday 9 December).

It has also been delivering frozen Christmas meals to residents since 1 December and is delivering hot festive meals the week commencing Monday 16 December.

The Council will be producing 1,200 frozen Christmas dinners, 1,300 luncheon club Christmas dinners and 800 individual Christmas dinners which will be delivered hot.

Councillor Muriel Weisz, Chair of the County Council’s Adult Social Care and Health Committee, said: “For many older people a Christmas luncheon club meal is their only get together over the festive season so I’m proud that we are helping to make this happen.

“Our Meals at Home service also offers a Christmas dinner for all our customers so no one need miss out on traditional turkey with all the trimmings.”
