TWO more of the area’s heritage jewels are showcased in a new guide promoted in last week’s Dispatch.
We revealed that Bestwood Country Park is featured in the booklet, which is the brainchild of the Nottinghamshire Heritage Forum.
But also given pride of place are Hucknall Library and the Dispatch district’s premier tourist attraction, Newstead Abbey.
The booklet throws the limelight on 50 of the most historic locations around Nottinghamshire.
The library on Market Place is this year celebrating its 125th anniversary and was given to Hucknall by John Edward Ellis.
Newstead Abbey is renowned the world over through its past as the ancestral home of the poet Lord Byron. But its history stretches back further with part of the building dating back to the 13th century.
The new booklet is available throughout the county.
