More delays are expected on Annesley Road in Hucknall when temporary traffic signals are introduced while gas works are carried out starting next Monday.
The four-way lights will be ion place at the junction of St Mary’s Way and Washdyke Lane from Monday August 10 until Friday August 21.
The work, which will be carried out by Gallagher Ltd, will connect the George Street estate to an existing main, and lay and commission a new gas main and road crossing into St Mary’s Way.
It will allow homes on the estate to have access to a gas supply as part of a renewable warmth scheme.
Hucknall is currently having gas mains renewal work done on the Nabbs Lane estate and utilities diversions on Wighay Road.
Work to revamp Hucknall town centre is due to start in September. And next April work starts to replace the Station Street bridge in the town.
These works follow a month of National Grid Gas mains and service renewal works on Annesley Road, which started at the junction with Spring Street on Monday 29th June and were due to finish on Friday July 31, north of Victoria Street.
Last summer businesses were hit hard by Western Power Distribution’s protracted attempts to install electricity cables on Annesley Road.
