Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) announced that Whyburn Medical Practice will hand the contract to provide GP services in Hucknall back to NHS England within six months. Mr Spencer has called on NHS England and the CCG to find a solution as quickly as possible for the residents of Hucknall.

He said: “For a long time now I’ve been raising concerns that continual housing developments in Hucknall would place too much pressure on our GPs, and now unfortunately we’ve had this news.“I’m obviously concerned and think it’s now very apparent that we need a new and sustainable plan for our GPs in Hucknall.

"As such, I’m calling on all the relevant parties to get their heads together and find a solution”“I would like to help in any way I can, and will keep pushing for the people of Hucknall so that a proper, sustainable and long-term solution can be found.

"I’ve already written directly to the CCG and to NHS England to see what is being done”.The CCG advise us that patient currently registered with Whyburn do not need to take any action, and the service will continue as normal, although the list will be closed to new patients. The CCG will write to patients directly to advise them of any action they may need to take in the future. If patients are worried, or would like more information, they can contact the CCG’s patientexperience team on 0115 883 9570 or email: [email protected]
