Lighting has been installed on the footbridge over the rail lines at Bestwood Village last weekend.
Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) installed four lighting columns at a cost of around £15,000 to improve safety.
The move follows a campaign by Sherwood MP Mark Spencer on NCC and Network Rail. He said: “Finally 14 months after the bridge was first opened we’ve succeeded. Well done to Notts County Council who have been behind the project all the way and have worked hard to meet the safety criteria Network Rail set. I can’t wait to see the bridge with the lights and know it will make a big difference to the community.”
