A Hucknall businesswoman’s praise for a helpful Argos manager has captured the imagination of Facebook users.
Heidi Butcher struggled to erect a trampoline she had bought from the Hucknall branch of the retailgiant for her four-year-old daughter Connie, so she rang the the store for advice.
But when store manager Richard Bramhall offered to help out in person, she posted a ‘thank you’ note on the social media site which soon attracted over 5,000 shares and likes.
Heidi, of Ashley Grove, said: “After two hours of trying to put it up I physically couldn’t pull the springs into the holes. I was physically and emotionally spent! I rang Argos and spoke to the manager.
“He asked what i’d like him to do and to my surprise said he’d be 15 minutes and would pop and see if he could help.
“This to me is above and beyond the call of duty, but the only solution. He was true to his word and was 15 minutes and helped with the springs and between us we put it up.
“I can’t thank Richard the manager enough - he’s very kind and should be on the board of directors at Argos as this cost him 30 minutes of his time whereas normally they would have probably sent a truck to deliver another
“Well done Mr Argos armed with common sense!”
Argos store manager Richard Bramhall: “In Hucknall we always try to make sure that every Argos customer gets the best experience possible, and on occasions we go that bit further to ensure customers are happy.
“Heidi sounded a bit stressed out so, while it was quiet in store and she was only a couple of miles away, I offered to go and help her out. Heidi and her daughter were really happy.
“I didn’t think anything more of it until I was called that night and was told I’d been mentioned on Facebook.”
