New Ashfield borders drawn up

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published its final recommendations for new electoral arrangements for Ashfield District Council.

Today’s publication follows two phases of public consultation on draft proposals earlier this year and draws new boundaries for each council ward across the district.

The recommendations propose that Ashfield should be represented by 35 councillors in the future, two more than the current arrangements.

They also propose councillors represent 13 single-member wards, eight two-member wards and two three-member wards across the district.
