PASSENGERS at Hucknall train station can now see live journey updates on high-tech screens after a rail operator spent £2.2m on network upgrades.
The screens supply real-time information on services as part of changes also made at Nottingham, Mansfield and Newark Castle.
The new screens are linked from the town-centre station to the East Midlands Trains control centre in Derby, which provides the updated information on when trains will leave on the Robin Hood Line.
Rob Mason, customer information manager for the firm, said: “This will make a big difference to our passengers.
“Our team will be able to keep the screens constantly updated with the latest information.”
The programme is part of a £10 million overall investment by East Midlands Trains to deliver station improvements.
Later in the summer Newstead, Sutton Parkway, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield Woodhouse and Bingham stations will also get the screens.
