Vicky Clurow, of Vedonis Park, has set up a business called Digs4Dogs to provide a home from home for man’s best friend.

The canine lover says she is ‘passionate about dogs’ and after struggling to find suitable accommodation for her own pets whilst on holiday, decided to set up the business to help others.

“I have two dogs and one of them is really unhappy in kennels and always got stressed when we went away and left her,” explained Vicky who is married to Neil and has a 13 year-old daughter Leonie.

“I ended up using a home service in Newark and realised there was a gap in the market for this area, so I decided to set up the business.

“Kennels don’t suit every dog and I treat my own dogs like children and many other people do too,” said Vicky who has always owned a dog. “By coming here they still get their home comforts.”

Digs4Dogs has only been operating a few weeks but after leaflet drops in the area, Vicky has already received a number of bookings.

“It’s going really well and I have been able to give up my part-time job at a school,” added Vicky who also offers a daily dog-walking service.

“I really love dogs so it’s my ideal job.”
