Nottinghamshire Fire chiefs issue world cup warning to Mansfield and Ashfield busineses

As well as managing safe occupancy levels, businesses are being urged to review the fire safety risk assessments for their premises, particularly when making temporary alterations to the conditions of the premises for the duration of the tournament.

They are also reminded to take extra precautions when using flag, banners and fireworks as part of their celebrations.

Station Manager Tom Clark, Fire Protection Officer for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, said: “We are all looking forward to the excitement that the tournament brings and the opportunity to support our respective teams during this global event. We also recognise the interest and economic boost this will bring to local businesses.

“However, we want to make sure that the tournament is enjoyed in as safe a way as possible, and that includes making sure that businesses have assessed any additional risks and taken steps to reduce them.”
