Nottinghamshire networking event aims to break world record

But businesses from across Nottinghamshire are invited to take part in the Guinness World Record attempt for ‘the most people attending a business speed networking event at a single venue’ at Kelham Hall and country park on Wednesday 9th April.

The record is currently held by the Australian Institute of Management who won it with 475 participants in October 2013.

The event aims to highlight the rich and varied nature of Nottinghamshire’s local businesses which includes the 26 local business clubs and organisations who regularly get together to swop ideas and learn about new developments and trends. The event will also raise money for Macmillan Cancer with a £1 donation for every person participating in the record attempt going to charity.

Coun Diana Meale, chairman of the Economic Development Committee and sponsor of the event, said: “As the proud home of the Robin Hood legend, we are recognised internationally as a world class county. This exciting event, organised by North Notts Business Connections and sponsored by Nottinghamshire County Council, offers us the opportunity to show we’re a world beating county for business and will put the spotlight on the many small to medium sized businesses based in Nottinghamshire.

“I’d encourage every local business to attend – you never know where that next networking connection could take you and your firm.

“The County Council actively supports business networking through the Nottinghamshire Business Engagement Group (NBEG) which reaches up to 14,000 firms across the county and meets every six to eight weeks.”
